Default How Much To Mill Heads

I have seen info posted before, but I can't find it. Does anyone know the amount of increase in compression ratio per .010 of milling? And at what point would you start to need the 7.350 pushrods and how far can you go with them?
Thanks

Wow! Hard to believe I got NO replies to this. I am referring to milling the heads.

Milling the heads is not a good idea. It weakens the strength of the head. There are better more effective ways to go about raising the compression. If you ever want to build a really hot engine using nitrous or forced induction, you've essentially blown your own foot off when you milled the decks on the heads. Most people do it because it's quick and cheap. In the long run it doesn't pay off. It's just better to build a set specific motor.

I would mill if I was using some heads where there could possibly be slight imperfections in the deck, warpage, etc. New heads are not always perfect either.
For stock pushrod length applications DO not mill more than .030. How far can you go? What cam are you running? As your cam changes so does the geometry of the head and how much you can mill.
Sawedoff made a good point - why are you milling the head? If its just to raise compression then that's the wrong reason. I don't have the charts in front of me but milling .030 would barely raise compression. Maybe from 10.5 to say 10.6.

There are much better and safer ways to make HP than raising your compression. But, if you have the heads off the car then by all means - mill the head to make a clean, perfect mating sruface for your head gasket. Do a 3- angle valve job, get new valves and polish the combustion chamber. P&P the head if you have the know how. These will give you good performance to enhance your other mods.
Good luck
