AAhemmmm.....Well, the BBQ went real well
I did happen to witness what appeared to be a couple of speed contests on Capitol (Capitol Raceway for those infamiliar....LOL)
The black Z ran very well for a basic bolt on N/A vehicle (stock heads and cam)....and no, I was not sporting the AFR's yet. Very soon however....should have some wheel dyno figures for you guys hopefully in the next few weeks.
And Steve's Camaro would have been a bit more of an interesting race had I thought about my tire pressure before lining up next to him....Dooooooh!
(Had 35 lbs. in my BFG Drag Radials after driving an hour to get there in the 90' heat!) Spun BADLY leaving and all thru first and second....Steve's car always runs hard and I look forward to our "next BBQ".
To be real honest, I've been struggling with the whole "BBQ thing" for the last couple of years....With my car getting faster, (and a whole lot more fun), I'm really liking the idea of just hitting the local tracks for this kind of entertainment....its not very far, costs a whopping $15, and I even get timeslips to evaluate my performance....and best of all, NO STRESS. I was driving home on Sunday thinking how sick to my stomach I would feel if my car was ever confiscated for screwing around on the street.
I love this **** and its been a passion of mine long before I was of driving age, but at this point in time I'm fighting the reality of what I have to lose versus the few seconds of enjoyment....I find myself scratching my head and thinking harder than I ever have before of whether it's really worth it. I know everyone knows what I'm talking about....but sometimes it's just tooo easy to get caught up in that moment!
Damn....I must be getting OLD!!
So while this weekend might not be my last "improptu BBQ", I think you will be seeing alot more of my silver coupe at the local drag nights very shortly....not to mention running alot stronger with the new heads and cam package.
Gotta run....My fiancee's B-Day today and were off on a "dinner date".
Regards to all,
Tony M. (the 41 year old version!)

In TX they usually write tickets for street racing, sometimes impound for multiple offenses.
called AA(acceleration annonomous). We hold the meetings on a nice hunk of four lane,
the dues can get rather expensive though.
