Default cheaper to replace pistons or just get a new engine?

Well i bought a firehawk w/ 6.0L engine. The previous owner told me the pistons could be used for FI but found out from the builder that they are forged flat tops w/ valve reliefs. the builder couldn't tell me how much of a relief. The block has been bored out .030 I'm guessing thats a 370 cu? well I bought the turbo already and I'm looking to get 700-750 but in the future add more. What would be the best route for the pocket? to have the pistons swapped out or just buy another block? The previous owner didn't give me the spec sheet on the block. Thanks for your time

Well, I would find out all the details before you jump to conclusions. You might be able to get away with just heads with a larger chamber.

It really depends on how much boost you want to run because naturally with the dished pistons you are lower the compression ratio which makes them ideal for boost applications. And by looking at your goal of 700-750 dished pistons would be great, but that doesn't mean that the flat tops wouldn't hit that range. If it was me and there was nothing wrong with the flat tops in it currently I'd just run those

Well first things first would be to look at your goals you want and when you want them. If you don't see the 800+ HP goal anywhere in the near future then stick with what you got and have some fun while you can. However, don't rush to any decisions you may regret later lol. Might cost you more down the road!

how big of heads would i have to go with this to lower the compression. if i remember right he said 10.5 w/ 317's. I was also thinking of going with e85 to lower the compression also.

Yeah 317's would lower it. At 10.5 you can run probably about 8 psi safely with a good tune since that isn't the best ratio for boost much higher than that. I personally wouldn't go over 10 on that compression. However, e85 or meth would allow you to run more but I'm not sure how much. Maybe someone else can chime in lol
