Default PTV for 228R...Shoud I check?

I did a huge archive search to see if this cam has caused anyone problems with PTV clearence and didnt find any. My heads are milled .020, and I have seen guys with .030+ with good clearence.

I'm considering NOT checking...If I did I would have to source down some solid lifters and/or checking springs and associated tools. I would hate to spend $$ if there is is no reason too. Thoughts?

Am I dumb??

I don't think you'll have clearance issues but it's ALWAYS a good idea to check. For a $20 PR checker isn't worth trashing a bottom end and a set of heads

Whats a PR? Push rod checker? I have one of those.

I dont have low tension springs nor Sold lifters.

What's you lsa? valves? Rickenbackerman just put in a 227r on a 114+1. On milled Afrs with 2.055 intake valves and probably .040 cometics. Might look at that thread, I believe he had 0.120 ptv.

I wouldnt worry about it man.... I ran a 230/238 on milled .040 317 heads with 2.08 valves and they did kiss the pistons but ran like a champ and made 463 hp so your stock heads milled and that cam shouldnt have any ptv cleatance issues.

I always recommend checking P/V clearance when adding an aftermarket cam. IMO, I think you are safe.

you guys are talking about 2 different things here. OP is talking about piston to valve clearance. others are talking about valve lash and pushrods. totally different animals.

in regards to pushrods... is there any way to measure your pushrod without pulling it out?
