799 vs 241 heads?

From whst i understand it is the same molds, just cheaper material used in the molding process that gives the final head casting a rougher internal finish on the 799 and better mold material that gives the 243 a smoother internal finish

I have both 799 and 243 and the 799 heads were actually smoother castings...the 243s had a lot of casting slag I had to clean up compared to the 799s and they were both 2005 heads...

Like I said before they are the same castings. I am sure there are casting flash difference each individual mold. The truck 243/799 won't have the good valves and springs of the car 243's.

GM actually uses both on the trucks and like I said seen one of each on the same motor stock.
