backfiring after first start up
I put a cam in my 02 lq4 Silverado its a 206/212 515/522 lift and it is backfiring now while idlen and lettin off the throttle I removed my egr also wat could be the cause of this. I was told it could be from bad gas which it has set since early april this is my first swap iv done so this has me lost thanks in advance

you would have to have something like HP tuner, did you get a tune after you installed the cam? if not then you need to get a dyno tune done by a good tuner that has knowledge with these engines. also did you triple check to make sure the dots are lined up on the cam sprocket

that's all iv done is cam is there any good tuners near northeast al so I could drive and have it done instead of rikin losin it in the mail

Do you live in AL? That's quite a drive.
Besides, if you're having trouble with the engine right now, driving a distance is prob not recommended.
There are other dyno-tuners in the NEast, but I'm not familiar with them.

Im curious, how does comp cams know what your correct pushrod length is suppose to be? Did they sneak into your garage or driveway and do a black ops mission with precision measuring tools on your engine?
Typically pushrod length would change with head gasket thickness change or head/block machining.

Im curious, how does comp cams know what your correct pushrod length is suppose to be? Did they sneak into your garage or driveway and do a black ops mission with precision measuring tools on your engine?
