Default ls6 intake prices

Since when did these things become $500 used intakes? Not wanting to cut anyone's sale but just 6 months ago they were the $300 shipped price...now everyone has them for 400+ shipping...its crazy guys these are brand new from $499 shipped ...
I guess supply and demand

It's supply and demand. Lots of folks are retrofitting LS motors into just about anything and the LS6 intake is a popular choice when choosing parts. They can still be found for a deal on the trader. You just have to watch and be fast because they sell quickly. A new one can be bought for $500, so when someone sells one for $400 shipped it's still not a terrible deal. I found one locally on craigslist for $200.

Prices for these things have gotten a little out of hand. For $800 you can get the 102mm Fast intake with shipping included! People just tend to over price things way too much. I think LS6 intakes go for $500 new at Summit Racing.

There are alot of people pulling LS engines out of trucks to put them in project cars (including me). They all need a car intake!

It's simply supply and demand. You want one, you're going to pay. Personally, if you can get a new one from Summit for $500. I would do that simply because you know nothing is wrong with it.

I feel the same way about the FAST 90-92 intakes. I want one, but people are selling them for $1500!!! Considering the FAST 102 is $799 all over. $350-$450 is about what I would pay for a FAST 90-92

Thats the way it goes.

People forget with the fast 102 its just not $800. You will need fuel rails, bigger MAF, bigger throttle body, bigger lid. It adds up to double the price of the intake alone.

Intake is an intake, just because you need addtional parts to make it work doesnt justify jacking up the price on the old intakes.

I agree 100%. I wouldn't pay that amount for a 90 or 92.

I was just saying for those who think they can just buy a 102 for $800 and bolt it on its not that easy. There is a substantial amount more needed than just the intake itself to make it work.

Why buy a used LS6 for $350 shipped when you can get a used Fast 78 for 25 dollars more?

Because finding a FAST 78 is like finding a unicorn when chances are you can throw a dead cat and land within 20 yards of a LS6. (although I did find a FAST 78 and got it ported for less than a new LS6 intake)

One dumbass pays 409 for an ls6 and other people see it so they set there price at that. I was going to sell my ls6 intake for 300 but I saw people were getting 350 plus shipping for them so I sold mine at that.

Simply because the LS community is getting dumbed down because kids can afford these cars now and dont know any better. They dont buy the aluminum manifolds because they "heatsoak" which is bs, they wont buy the 102 because its "too big", that drives up the price of the other FASTs so they cant afford them, so the LS6 is the only thing left, therefore creating a demand. I for one cannot wait to get rid of my LS6 intake

I don't really think its the younger crowd. Us older folks have the $$ to pay and we do!...Like I said, its due to all the LS conversion being done. There were only so many factory LS1s with LS6 intakes, but TONS of 5.3 and 6.0s. Look at www.nastyz28.com or any of the other hotrod sites. MOST people who are doing these swaps are doing it with truck engines not F-body engine and need the LS6 intake or a FAST. The internet myths of the 102 being too big only leaves two intakes, the LS6 or FAST 92. Thats why FAST 90-92s sell for what they do and soon enough the LS6 intake will too! Atleast until the LY6s and LS3s come down in price. Knowing that people are paying $500 for the LS6 I wouldnt sell it for less than that, that wouldnt be smart.

Was going to do a used ls6 myself, but now will do a TPIS 90 version, LS2 and port it myself or a FAST 102 over time. This thread is right on. New can be had for 499 last time I checked. Do they not make them anymore?
