No they're the speed inc hardened 7.4

Edit: When I get home here in a bit I will pull the covers and check lash. Could they be too long? They are non-adjustable Jesel Shaft Mount rockers. Which ran fine before the cam swap. The only thing changing would be valve springs, cam, and pushrods.... That would indicate cam has a smaller base circle? But, Speed Inc said to use the 7.4's. What should lash be? .060?

Rule out one thing at a time I guess..

1st: How did you get Jesel Shaft Mounts to clear stock valve covers (spacers?)?

2nd: Did you recess (with a dremel) the area behind on the rocker on the heads, there is not enough clearance back there on stock heads for the Jesel rockers. (This is the area directly behind the rocker). I used aftermarket valve covers, and dremelled the area clear behind each rocker - PITA.

3rd: What preload did you use/how did you setup your adjustable Jesel's? Here is a video of mine, mods in signature (I'm having cam sensor issues - looks to be cam related though).

Ha sorry Must have.

I clearanced the valve covers and heads. The covers got significant time with the dremel.

They are the non-adjustable sportsman (KSS-307070*) rockers.

Alright, I would say you have the preload on your lifters bottomed out, they are sounding like solid lifters and acting like it right now IMO.

Got home, reset computer and started it up. Water on the ground. Sounds much better than before.

Edit: Don't know why the video is sideways. Sorry.

Anyone? Sounds way too loud to be just common valve train issues

How did you set your preload? You may need shorter pushrods by the sounds of it. Did your Jesel's come with a pushrod length checker?

As stated, LS1s with a cam make considerable valve train noise, the last video seems like quite an improvement over the first.

Lastly, how long did the engine sit for before being fired up?

In all honesty I didn't. I know I should have. I was told by the guys I got the pushrods and cam from that they were undoubtedly 7.4....

The last two videos were from the same start. Usually I have to let it sit over night

7.4s might be alright with stock rockers, but Jesel shaft mounts change the length of pushrod needed - at least mine did even with the adjustable set.

I would pull the rockers, get a pushrod checker, and check with Jesel for proper installation to attain your desired preload. This will quiet your valvetrain considerably.
