please tell me some good news. i dont know what to do at this point.it must have already been cracked because i barely tightened it down and it started spinning. i was thinking about getting it welded.but whats the harm in running it with one knock senor?

 

It would set a code for the missing sensor, your best option would be welding it back on

 

There is extra holes in side of the block, just switch the out to run one on each side of the block like the newer engines. I did this on a truck engine and its been fine for a couple years.

 

do you guys think some really good metal epoxy would work since its not really a moving part or anything? ive got some stuff called PB7 its a two part metal repair epoxy.pretty strong stuff.i just dont have an aluminum welder. i would have to find somone to come to my house and weld it back on.

avalanche,where are the hols in the side of the block? would i have to move both of them or can i just move the back one and leave the front one in the valley? i could extend the wire to the one on the side of the block,but i need to know where it is?

 

Relocate it and forget it. If you disconnect it you will set a code. Bolt it to a spair position on the engine as explained ABOVE!!

 

ok will do! can you tell me where these extras holes are located? just wondering if it will be too close to the longtubes?whew! im so glad there is an easy fix.i will extend the wire and relocate it.

mine were shut off by my Tuner.

 

so it looks like on the ls2 block there is a hole beneath the motor mounts.is this where is should mount the sucker?is the same hole in my ls1 block?(BTW i didnt have to grind on my block to install the ls6 valley cover,if that tells you which block i have)

Just run them on the exterior of the block with that harness!

 

sensor relocated!! i used some fiberglass wire loom from my job. heatshink butt connectors.front sensor is in the valley still,rear sensor is sitting above the oil filter.plenty of clearance for the longtubes. no more problem.i even broke the remaing piece of the stem off with a hammer so it wouldnt break off into the engine!
