spec me a custom cam...
Ls1 stock bottom
Prc 2.5 5.3 heads milled .005
Ls6 intake
Pacesetter lts 3" true duals
3.73s 27" tire
4000lbs
T56
I have a 233/239 .598 .603 on 112* now. I want more low end grunt and make BIG torque and good power under the curve. Can KNOWLEDGABLE cam guys give me a few good choices..I would still like a good thump though.

Well thing is I just bought the heads. Not installed yet and I'm afraid I will have ptv clearance issues w these heads and cam I have. So I was contemplating a new cam. Although I only have max 300 miles on this cam lol.

That's what I'm tryin to avoid is fly cutting. Id have to pull engine to do that and not really wanting to do that.

I'm at about 59.5cc with 8* of overlap. And she revs clean to 7k. Not saying my P to V is optimal. But obviously it's not hitting. If you wana check out my tq curve I can post it for you.

Yea that would be nice..
As far as all of the lobe types I'm lost as hell..lol.
I like how my cam pulls from 3200 up to 6800. But kinda lousy on the bottom....ok really lousy

I think you'll be happier with 228r w/111lsa, with you 3.73 gears.
Wait a minute, just realized you have 3.73 gears. You know if you went with 4.11 gears your current cam will have better low-end response. This should have been the first option I recommended to you.

I actually was planning on a set of 4.30s in near future. I will be running a 28" tire. My biggest thing id the ptv clearance w my current cam. If it will clear I will stick w it. I'm sure I can pull more in bottom end out through tune. Its still a little on fat side around 12.5-12.8 wot.

The 233/239 is a good grind. IMO first determine if PTV clearance is ok. Not by asking on the net but by actually measuring. Stage 2.5 has bigger valves, even TSP can't answer that one for ya. You need to measure. Based on that you make a decision.
BTW you can certainly flycut while motor in car. That is what I would do, measure PTV clearance, flycut and even mill heads a bit more to get SCR (compression) where desired for best output.
Yes it is more work, but that is what makes power (attention to detail). By raising compression to 11>11.3 you harness more trq at lower rpms while still benefiting from high rpm output.
One has to put in the effort to harness the potential of bigger durations. Do it right and you'll be rewarded.

Okay. How can I fly cut without pulling engine? I know the front 3 cylinders on each side may be easy but back may be difficult. Any pointers and tips are appreciated. As far as ptv tolerances what would be safe? Also you stated milling heads more. How much more should I go? Not sure if this makes a difference but I will be putting spray to it. Thanks for all of your help guys.

My car has more off idle, part throttle tq than it did before the heads and cam.. From the compression bump.
