Default Check my math

Ok, the heads I am putting on this motor have been milled 0.020 and putting in a cam. Usually on cams, the base circle is 0.010 to 0.020 smaller then stock. Can I get away with running stock length pushrods.

This questions come up all the time...Why don't you just measure to ensure you have what you need?

Technically, simple math will work, but still not the best way to do it. Somone here will tell you yes, something goes wrong, next thing you know theres a post on here about valve train noise or valves hitting pistons...

Drop your old pushrods in your new set up, then post how many turns from 0 lash to torque you get...minimum 3/4- 1 1/2 turns max is what you are shooting for...then go from there to get your needed pushrod length

At a minimum do like mark said in post#3. But you ALWAYS want and need to measure. It's a $20 tool that will pay for itself over and over!
