Pull out 6.0
98 ls1 formula spun a rod bearing 2 days ago found locally a 6.0 for sale seller claims it has 70k miles on it what should I do to the shortblock before I swap over all my top end off my ls1

What is the 6.0 out of?? Examples: If it is out of a 3/4 ton work truck that did not run synthetic oil then I would freshen up the bottom end. If it is out of an Escalade that ran synthetic then you can slap it together and call it good.
IMO it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and refresh the bottom end while the motor is out. It may run just fine but seems like a good idea to put a little extra money in to a roughly 13 year old motor for peace of mind. The LQ9 that I bought looks just fine visually but will have new bearings/rings installed while everything is cracked open. I hope to never have to touch the motor again : D
