LS1 Build Thread
I will update this thread as the car is built, gets dyno'd, etc. Just to help get some solid information out on how this setup does. I have decided to go with the "power under the curve" type build, so here are the mods I will be installing over the next few weeks:
-PRC 2.5 5.3 heads
-228/232 (XER lobes) on 111 LSA
-LS6 Intake (for now)
-Ported LS6 TB
-Ported MAF
-ASP UD Crank Pulley
-Monster Stage 2 Clutch w/ 18lb flywheel
-TSP LT's and ORY
That is pretty much the build as I can think of it off the top of my head. I am doing all the supporting mods (Katech rod bolts, Trunion upgrade, oil pump, 42# injectors, etc. etc.) as I do plan on spraying the motor sometime down the road. The car is a 99 Z28, T-56 car.
I really would like to see the car put down 450whp (When you dream, you have to dream big right? Haha). I have seen similar setups make anywhere from 420-440whp without doing the "extra mods" like the lightweight flywheel, UD pulley, taking the plate out of the exhaust, etc. etc. so I am hopeful. The car is on the stock 10 bolt so that will help keep the dyno numbers up as well. Will post up soon with pictures and dyno results.

I probably won't be able to get to working on my car for about 1.5 weeks so stay patient, lol.

The 853 thing is a local joke, lol.

Front cover/pan:

Made sure the pan was flush with the rear of the motor, etc. Installed the polyurethane motor mounts today (more time consuming than I was hoping), and I also measured PR length. I am getting a very short PR (7.325" would be perfect) so I am hoping I did something wrong (I don't want to have to wait another week for more PRs).
Made some progress:

I am seriously bummed that you cannot see that PP once the transmission is bolted on.

Hope to have the car rolling tomorrow.
