426rwhp.....but yeah that pretty much somes it up. I just put a set of valve springs on it and a set of 1.8 rr and changed the fast 90 to a port matched 102. I'm hoping it picks up another 8-12rwhp......but I would be happy with another 6 rwhp too if that's all it does.

Listen to this guy right here. Ed Curtis is a master at optimizing setups. Over on LS1GTO, as guy with an 04 GTO (LS1) made over 450 rwhp and over 410 rwtq with Ed's ported 243's (stock valves) and a custom cam that was in the high 220's intake and low 230's exhaust. Let Ed port your heads, setup the valvetrain and custom spec you a cam. You won't be dissapointed.
I've seen a couple combos in the 460's and one I know of that went 474... these are all dyno numbers and we all know there are some happy dyno's out there.
Not knocking Flowtech or Ed himself just saying that there are quite a few companies out there that can put together a strong preforming combo if you let them port the head and spec you a cam to go with it. Even if you don't win any awards coming off the dyno you will be happy with the way it runs on the street/track.

I've seen AI and TEA make great numbers like you are saying, but all the ones I've seen were with an aftermarket (FAST) intake and a cam much bigger than the one I was talking about. I don't disagree that anyone of those shops can provide great matching products and the numbers he's looking for. It's nice having so many options when it comes to this stuff. I'm just giving Ed at Flowtech a shout out because he's not talked about much on here and I have had the pleasure of working with him a few times and he's a great guy to deal with.
Those are fairly common number from most of the AI, TEA ported 243 set-ups I've seen.

OP dont know what kind of hw your doing.. Many guys make 450 rwhp+ with a good set of heads from AI or TEA.. Since your not worried about those kinds of things, I bet you that you wont go slower in the 1/4 with a set of ported 243s.. Maybe its not worth the money to you since your car is bone stock to the thermostat.

Here is a GTO with a slightly larger cam spec'd by the same guy but with the AI 243s.

I understand 2004 was 5.7l LS1but it is not the displacement that gained the LS2 it's power it is the heads and cam. If you compare an 04 LS6 with an 05 LS2 now granted the LS6 has.025 more lift and a little more exhaust duration but here you have two engines a 5.7l and a 6.0l with the same heads making basically the same power. Point being the .3l is NOT where the power difference is between the 04 and 05 GTOs. It is the heads and cam.

I know Ed is still held in high regard around hear for his knowledge of cams, after re-reading my post I didn't want you to think I was attacking you personally as I kinda thought I came off a little harsh. Like you said it's all about options and we are lucky to have the resources we do.

I didn't take it that way at all. I know a lot of people on here are not Ed Curtis fans, but I've had great experience with him and he is the only person I enstrust to spec and grind my cams.
