Ticking noise (vid) Car is an 02 WS6, all stock, 69k miles. Just got the car and it has a ticking noise. Ticking noise goes faster as I bring the rpms up. Will pull the valve covers tomorrow and take a look at the rocker arms and push rods. Hoping its not a lifter but wouldn't be surprised. What does it sound like to you guys?
When my 1999 T/A started ticking like that I found that a lifter had twisted sidways and the motor pounded it flat against the cam. I would turn it off and definitely dont drive it until you find out the problem. I had to pull the motor and have my motor guy go through it because I drove it around like that for about a week.
drop the oil filter, take it to any auto shop or performance shop they will have a filter cutting tool. You will know in about 30 seconds after you cut it open if its the bottom end
