Default Swapping 806 heads for stock 243s?

My mods are currently full exhaust, BBK SSI intake, LID, underdrive pulley, 228r cam, and a dyno tune. I put down 390/375. My buddy has a 6.0 out of a TBSS just sitting around and I noticed it has the 243 heads. He said I could HAVE THEM!! But I don't have the money to go get them worked so I would just be transferring the stock 243s onto my engine. My question is would there be a good enough gain to do the swap or should I just wait and buy some CNC heads later down the road to make better power? I've searched on here and haven't really seen anyone go from shitty 806s to stock 243s.

Thanks in advance.

haha that's what I was thinking. But if I take 'em i'll get them milled a little and run them. People are saying a stock set of 243s going from 806s usually gain 20+rwhp.

yeah i'm pretty sure those heads will help out a lot. i'll get them milled .020 and probably do a valve job. he's got the valve covers and coil brackets to go with them too!!

Stock unported 243's are probably good for 10-20rwhp I would say, however they are an upgrade from the 806's and will definitely show decent gains once you port them

You'll see around 15 hp, I would save for atleast a valve job.

Also remember that you will need new valve covers for the 243s. I say go for it they will be an improvement for sure and at a bargain. I bought a used set off here for 400$ almost brand new only 2K miles on them

The 806's with $500 in porting would murder the 243's. I port heads for a living and the 806's in ported form are as good as any 241 or 853 ported. Anyone that tells you different is ignorant.

I must agree. And, you can keep your valvecovers.
Mine are self-ported. In 4th, between 4 & 6 K, this engine roars, with plenty in reserve.
It's a little scary, actually!

I think you should get the heads.you can check the valve seats for leaks your self by pouring solvent down the port runners while they face up.if they don't leak you can install them with some new springs.
