Default Air Pump

Has anyone done an air pump yet? The old timers say they are worth 17 - 20 hp. We have a Moroso 3 vane belt driven pump being installed now. It will pull about 10" from 1 valve cover with a adj. pop off valve on the other valve cover using #12 line. We have welded a baffle inside the valve cover it pulls from so as not to take oil from the valvetrain. It will vent into a catchcan with a breather. We will start at 10" although I am told it can pull up to 15" but you do not want to starve the oil pump. We will also run 7 quarts of oil. I will have some pics up in a few days. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Dave

Crankcase evac?

GeorgeC, moderator for dragracing has one.

Supposed to be worth some power any built race motor.

I think you'd need to bulid your engine with low tension rings to take full advantage of something like this

I could see that with a big solid lifter motor, I know that mustang guys use them, but mostly with blown or turbo applications.

I would put a catch can before the vacuum pump with no breather so you can still pull vacuum. I dont like the idea of oil going through the vacuum pump.

Good Luck,
