Default heads vs cam

Am I the only one that figues head flow through out the curve matters more instead of having a "donkey dick" cam? Me personaly awesome head flow over huge cam numbers any day.

Yea, but if you have great flowing heads with a small cam, you're not taking full advantage of the heads flow capabilities.

A great set of heads can make even a poor cam perform good, but a great cam can't do its job with a set of poor heads bolted over them.....I vote for great heads, then donkey cam

Heads and compression over any size or lift cam only setup any day of the week. Heads only w/ stock cam FTW

You're not alone. My setup is going to include AFR 215cc heads and a "baby" custom ground Ed Curtis cam. I'm going to mill the heads to get to 11:1 compression. The AFR heads flow so well that you don't need a "donkey dick" cam to make great power. The problem with a donkey dick cam is your car is useless as **** down in the low RPM's. With great flowing heads, a small cam that has tons of useable, under the curve power, you'll walk any Joe running a big *** cam all day long.

I've always been a heads first, I must admit I feel like the Lone Ranger @ times.

One of my projects will be an all bolt on LS2, all bolt on includes bolt on ported AFR 205's

Putting heads on a car then picking a cam based on the heads have always been the case with most cars, and is with the ls1 if you are trying to get everything out of it.

Most people in the ls1 community have gone cam first as it picks up more power than jus ta set of heads. So most people that were tight on money and could only choose 1 decided to put in a cam.

I have a T2 cam- not by any means a donkey dick cam and I picked up 81rwhp when it went in over 6-7 years ago. I have since added the heads that really woke the car up down low, but wasn't as noticible as the cam.

Well there is a reason why race engineers talk about area under the curve. I bet you beat him.
