228R :
better low end
Easier on the valve train

T2:
Better top end
Meaner sound
I see what your saying, maybe they can spec a hybrid to give you best of both worlds... Idk how all that works. But if your not doing gears I'd go 228r get that low end power, but if you plan on going gears later ho with a more top end cam. Jmo

Torquer or 228R
To be honest it ultimately comes down to personal opinion. If it were my car and I had to pick one or the other it would be the Torquer V2, makes slightly more power with a slightly more aggressive idle with hardly any difference in drivability between it and the 228R.

Okay thanks. I'll be placing my order within the next few weeks.

If the car is just being run on the street you should have no issues (my car is great on the street, but doing almost 120 in third gear before I grab forth is a bit ridiculous). With the Monster Stage 2 clutch, lightweight flywheel, and 3.42 gears my car does not 60' to save its life. With 4.10s it should change that a lot.

It's going to be an issue with either cam unless you put a stickier tire on it.

My car already loses traction on the 1-2 shift. This should be interesting with an extra 50 hp

I think the Torquer 3 makes about 5 hp over the T2.

Bump the lift on the intake a little put it on a 111lsa and you'll like this one better than the 228r http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1154-te...-camshaft.aspx

Few questions for the Tsp guys.

1. Which size push rods? 7.4?
2. What timing chain should I get?
3. Which springs? Dual?

Not a tsp guy but I think 7.4's, double chain and springs are recommended. I would also recommend a new oil pump since you will already be in there

So the LS2 style chain thats like $50?

I could be wrong but I dont think I need a new oil pump. My car only has 35k on it.

Yea that's what alot of people upgrade to is the ls2 chain. And damn lucky *** 35k!!! I wish lol. But in that case probably not. Alot of guys go with the ported ls6 oil pump. I was just tossing it out there since you will be ***** deep in the engine anyways. But again idk if that as big of a deal and with that low of miles I highly doubt its worn.

Yeah lol. I bought it in 2009 w/ 19k. Someone told me at a car meet not to bother with the oil pump. They also said I could get away with using the stock timing chain but I dont want to risk it.

Hell yea, and yea I wouldn't want to either. So yea I'd just go with the 7.4's and a ls2 chain and call it good. Unless the tsp guys can chime in and clear that up. I don't think you have to change it out with a bigger cam its just one of those might as well. But having no miles makes it a little less of a issue
