Default 224r on 114+lsa idle clips?

Anybody want to take some vids of there exhaust at idle with a 224r on a 114 lsa or higher lsa? Or post the ones you have please! I am looking for a cam to sound close to stock, with a 220+ duration, but don't want to spin the motor past 6400 rpm. I think it would be hard to hear the 224r cam with my car through my really quiet magnaflow catback with the rpm raised a bit.

Go to U tube and for the love of Gawd quit repeating that raised idle nonsense. I've given you many options but you keep coming back full circle to the same gibberish.

That is the first link I found on youtube of our 224r on a 114 lsa. Maybe his exhaust is a little more loud then yours would be. If you want it real quiet you might go to a 115 lsa.

IMO, go with the 224/220 .581/.581 116 LSA that PREDATOR-Z recommended, he knows his stuff, and wouldn't steer you wrong.

It is really so simple.
You want a stock sounding cam! Reduce overlap.
224/224 .581/.581 115+5 LSA
negative 6 overlap, that is -6 and will sound stockish and pass Cali emissions (if you ever decide to go there ) while maintaining 42 IVC (intake valve closing) for 6200 rpm peak.
TSP can cut it for ya and you can run it with single beehive like PAC 1518.

There, that should satisfy you, satisfy TSP sales as well. I think I have covered ALL angles.
PS: Oh! and it will satisfy me as well since you'll be able to run normal idle

You'll want a ICL (Intake Center Line) of 110 with your 115lsa. To chose your ICL you'll have to go to the custom cam menu. IMO, just call them. Tell them you want a 224 xer lobes on the intake and exhaust, 115lsa and a 110ICL, or you can do it all in the custom cam menu.

Now I'm really going to make you made, but what if I did just like you said there, but a 228/228 .588/.588 115+5lsa? Would it still sound stockish, see better 1/4 mile gains?, and be able to shift under 6500rpm with good torque?

-2* overlap is not stealth at all, your power band will move up some and your lowend won't be as good. You could go with a 224/220 114+4 that would have -6* overlap. To maximize you low rpm power you want to keep the lsa tighter and/or keep the intake duration only high enough for the powerband you want.
FYI, there's reasons why stealth cams keep the intake duration down; here's a few.
1. To keep the overlap down
2. Two to keep the power band within a reasonable rpm range

Please correct if I'm wrong(PREDATOR-Z), or left anything out since I'm trying to keep it simple.

go to LS1 sounds .com if your worried about how it will sound. if you really want a cam and want to sound stock for some reason, get a cheater cam. stock like idle but gains throughout the powerband. not the best cam out there but closest to stock sounding IMO

I don't think a 228 on a 115 would sound stockish. I have heard a 228 on a 114 quite a few times and it is a very noticeable idle. Nothing crazy but you can definitely tell its there.

Sweet,
It is not being 115 LSA that just makes a cam sound stock. It is overlap. -6 overlap and below will be stealthy.
You do not have too much experience and info on cam dynamics, leave that to experienced people (until you learn and that will take awhile). You keep switching your mind around, and this will just drive all of us nuts .

So IMO if you want stockish sound and gobs of power to race, look into Forced Induction. Supercharging or turbo.
But if you want to pull a fast one at the track, it may work with novices but it will make you look like a fool to seasoned members.
My advice is sit back and reflect carefully on your goals and let experienced people decide for you on the correct parts. Just be honest with yourself and your project.

I want to do a procharger setup in a year or so, but wanting a cam for now. So does more overlap hurt torque? I think I will just go with your final recomendation of the 224r 115+5 and call it a day....

No more overlap will yield more power but will not sound stock.
If you're planning on future procharger, then do not get too high an overlap so you do not bleed intake charge too much.
For supercharging in mind I would go with 224/230 .581/.590 114+4 LSA

What's your exhaust setup? I have a 224r 112 in an auto. LTs, ory, 3" cutout, to factory catback. With the cutout closed it sounds damn near stock, just a little bit louder. But with the cutout open, your not fooling anybody.

I have lt's, ory, 3" cutout in the I pipe. It sounds cammed with the damn cutout open stock I can't imagine with a big cam. But when I cap it through the magnaflow catback it is pretty damn quiet.
