Need some info on this cam...
Need some info on this cam... I did some trading a while back and ended up getting this cam thrown in with some other parts. The guy said he was running it in a 408 with TFS 235's.
Specs are: 247/260 @ .050 .647"/.647" 112+3
Can I run this in a 370? Im collecting parts for a carbed drag project and had this laying around...

Well if you are building a drag 370 it might not be bad depending on your head selection. Ideally for drag carb setups the LSA would be closer to a 108-110. If its something you have laying around and want to try I don't see a problem with it, just keep in mind it is pretty large. Probably wouldn't drive so well on the street. I don't think clearance would be an issue in a built motor because of valve reliefs. Always worth it to check though.
Thanks. I do just have it laying around and thought about using it...all I really have at the moment is a block/crank/cam. Would some stock 799/243's work or would I need something bigger? Im sure its way to big for ls3 heads
I think it would work fairly well in a 370. It should also like nitrous if you ever planned to spray on it with the early EVO that cam would have.
If your building a 370 with aftermarket rods/pistons then you wouldn't have any clearance issues because the measurements for the valve reliefs will be taken with the cam you have in mind from the start. This means you could have the cc piston that would make the most out of the compression you could run depending on the fuel type you plan on using while not having clearance issues with a set of stock chamber heads.
Just something to think about, and I think it would work well with either type of head you plan on running.

Awesome. I didnt know if it would be stupid to build a motor around a cam I had laying around but if it works for what Im trying to do then I will. I did plan on spraying it later on.

In a drag application I would probably lean towards LS3 heads out of the couple you stated. With the right aftermarket pistons you can fit those heads on there no problem. I would expect it make decent power for the application.
