Default You gotta see this.....

So I pulled the heads off the car to swap the lifters and I came across some funny ****. My valve springs are upside down. Anybody ever seen any **** like this? lol

And btw, if I pulled the valley cover anyone know if I would be able to tell if I have an after market cam? Not sure if they're usually marked or anything. I was told it had one when I bought it, but 99% of what the guy told me was bullshit so IDK.

that is retarded. And the best way to tell if you have a aftermarket camshaft is to use a caliper and take some measurements.

oh yea, and judging by the first picture I saw, I hope that your cam is original, and that nothing inside of your motor was touched by this mentally challenged man.

Well I've had the car for a little over a year. Put just over 5k on it. It just went 12.1 a couple of weeks ago but got a bad tick on the last pass. That's why the heads are off. Was planning on new lifters, but think I might do complete new top end now.

Like I told my buddy that was helping me, these are the new inverted race springs. They are made for handling and are a must for the twisty's.

I know a guy that tried to do this. Told me that back in the day that was how everyone ran beehives so they could get clearance on running a big spring. I laughed so ******* hard lol.

If they did install a cam...how does your oil pressure look? I'd imagine they raped the bearings putting it in dry, judging by the springs lol!

FWIW I was able to identify my Torquer V2 through the valley, it's hard to read the numbers but it can be done. If I remember right though the numbers that I found there were for the cam line it comes from and not the specific cam itself, but it at least tell you if you have an aftermarket cam or not.

...and what makes this even funnier, is the guy who did this is probably somebody who frequents this forum, and pretends to be knowledgable, even giving out advice, and attempting to answer questions. Personally, I'm not surprised at all. The Internet has made everybody a genius! LOL!

All the aftermarket cams I have seen having sloppy hand engravings on the back end showing a part # and/or grind #.

The stock cams have the I-phone scan symbol and laser etched digits on the end.
