Simple- as you can probably see by the other comments, BBK is the way to go. For $500 from Jegs, it's definitely worth the money..

Idc I beat cars with fast intakes sitting on ther cars.
What??? People spend big money for 1HP. Once you reach the bolt on ceiling your going to have to spend a bunch of cash to make small gains. To me 10 HP is alot.

On the heat soak yea the air is going into the engine so fast its not going to heat up from sitting in the intake. The deal with the heat is that the alum. intake is going to hold heat longer then the composite. If your running rounds or racing on a road course then it will matter. So cooling the car down between races is going to be harder.

Go to the track and cool the motor down and, ice down the intake and compare the #'s to those when hot lapping the car.

The typhoon looks like it underwent a half assed attempt to make it look like an ITB intake. Not to mention the poor fitnemt and leakage that has been reported.
