Default bbk vs ls6 intake

Can someone explain to me why the ls6 is better then the bbk, how much more does the ls6 flow over bbk and is it worth selling the bbk for ls6

I haven't looked at the BBK intake at all.. Is it one of the aftermarket aluminum intakes? If so, that's why haha. Keep with a composite intake design.

They are pretty equal as far as flow numbers, from what I've read, but the BBK offers better power* on the top end.

The myth about heat soak is just that, a myth. The air moves fast through the intake, through the hot heads, and into the hot chamber. The aluminum intake being a bit warmer than a synthetic one isn't going to make a difference.

I would definitely just stick with the BBK, I've read it has more porting potential, gives better out of the box gains and to me it looks a little better sitting in the engine bay than an LS6

The masses don't run it because they are afraid of heatsoak. But overall it is a better designed intake and will gain over the LS6 up top

IMO, stick with the with your BBK SSI, you'll see no benefit going to the LS6 intake.
I'd get either a BBK 85tb or a Edelbrock 90tb on your BBK if you don't already have one on it to maximize it's potential.

I was thinking going with a bigger tb but my stock 1 is ported and polished

Cooler intake charge with composite intake...GM made the Intakes from the composite for a reason!....only benefit of bbk is availability to port it easier

My polished tyhoon will arrive today. Some compairisons depend on your set up. My redline is 6900, ls6, no good. I will be porting my 85mm typhoon, and opening the snout to 90mm. Putting on an Ls7 throttle body. I have no doubt it will kick *** over my ls6 intake with homeported tbody. Plus the polished typhoon looks better than anything out there. Read the dyno results of this typhoon vs ls6 intake.
