Default Should I get 241s or 243s?

I know 243s have better flow but cant find any to cheap. 241s are every where and i know i can get them really cheap. Would it be better and cheaper to get some 241s or keep trying to find 243s?

Keep trying to find 243. 241s aren't that bad once AI gets ahold of them. 243's are better in every fashion however. You can find them between 400-500 bucks all day.

243's are made of gold, best bet is to just spend the $$$ on a aftermarket set when they pop up..

What are you calling cheap? The difference in price is only a few hundred dollars lmao

243s if you have to buy heads to begin with. Look at some of the sponsors here, they sale ported versions for about double what you are talking

You already have 241 heads (assuming by the car in your avatar), so why are you going out of your way looking for cheap 241 heads for sale?

Get some 243 and send to tea. I just got stage 2 243 on my car with 228 cam and fast 92. My stalled auto put down 429/392 on a mustang dyno.
If you decide to go with 241 I have my stock ones pm me if interested.

What he said.

If you just want cores to send in for porting, you can save money by getting the 853 instead of the 241s. Once ported there will be no difference.

Also, instead of looking for 243, look for some 799 they are often cheaper and are the same design as the 243.

If you do not plan on porting the heads, replacing any other stock head with a 241 is a waste of time.

Watch the 853's. Some have a pry notch which limits you to a stock composite head gasket.
