oil ring problem?

oil ring problem? i am installing the ring on my new pistons, noticed that the oil ring spacer sticks out of the groove a lot more than i ever remeber any of my traditional small blocks. they are file fit rings but i dont see any specs on the spacers. they dont want to stay in the grove even after you put the oil rings on them. just my imagination or am i doing something wrong?
