How to tell the difference between LS6 243's and LS2 243's
Like the title says. How can I tell the difference between the sodium valves and the standard ones? I recently picked up a set of heads and the seller didn't know which they were. They are 243's with yellow springs. Do the valves themselves look different? Hopefully someone can fill me in....

I don't understand why you say this.a longer valve would require a different spring to achieve the same seat pressure.longer would be less,shorter would be more assuming the shims were the same thickness.and I've not seen any differences in spring seats between the two.also if it were longer above the keeper it would throw the valve train geometry off.have you ever actually measured the two? Or is this more Internet "facts"? I'm curious because I'm using the ls6 springs in my 5.3 heads.do you know what the installed height is supposed to be?The only other thing could be a cam with a different base circle,then it would make sense to get the proper preload on the lifter.

I haven't had the heads off an LS yet so I am just throwing an idea out there.
On my LT1 stuff the intake valves are magnetic, the exhaust valves not.
Would it be possible the solid intake valves would be a magnetic alloy but the hollow ones not?
I was mostly just trying to think of a non-visual way that could possibly work, maybe the LS valves are all non-magnetic or something, I do not know. I will be honest and say I don't feel like pulling a valvecover off my truck to check an 05 5.3l either.
