I have a cam I purchased a few years ago from a company that is pretty famous in a bad way.. I originally got the cam for my 02 Camaro stock heads. Never installed it. (Its garaged for now) I now have a 2002 Z06 stock with All of the basic bolt-ons 1-3/4 ARHs, Haltech Intake. I would like to use the cam for the C5Z are there any issues that any of you would for see? PTV etc. Also a good guess on HP and drive-ability would be nice. I have new PRC 650 springs and comp push rods(need to check the length but they were spec'ed for a stock head 02 LS1
Cam Specs
H*E S1 Cam:
Intake: lift .605 Duration 238
Exhaust: .610 Duration 242
LSA 112
Any Advice is appreciated.Thanks!

Well you've got a good size cam with 16* overlap, I would check PTVC and figure on notching the pistons. You might get lucky and have good clearance, but the odds aren't in your favor. Id also highly consider shorter rear gears like 4.11s.
As far as drive-ability I would have went smaller, but if your have a GOOD tuner you should be fine.

Thanks I am having trouble finding anyone who has ran this particular cam in a C5Z I plan on getting it tuned at Texas Speed. I will more than likely keep the 3.42s for awhile may go to 3.90s its a C5Z so the Transmission is already geared pretty short.

Looks like an MS3. It'll run pretty decent in the LS6 headed car with the Z06's MN12 gearbox. The added compression, better flow, and better gearing in a lighter car makes it a better choice for the Z06 vs Camaro cam only.
If you were shooting for sky high numbers and had the right supporting mods, it'd be a good cam (as long as you advance it a bit - like 3 degrees for a 109 ICL).
It won't drive perfectly at low speed no matter what tuner you have or what people tell you, but it won't be terrible either and will probably net you 420rwhp or so on a DynoJet.

Sweet thanks for the info. I am not shooting for max hp and using this cam would leave me the money to buy better clutch I don't think the stock LS6 clutch will last long after the cam install.

I ran a 238/242 .595/.595 112lsa in my 346... At the time my 241's were milled about .020". Later when tearing the engine down to port and mill the heads more I had marks on all the piston faces from where the bales just touched them, but I got lucky and had not broke or bent anything....while tuning the tranny with the new stall I had a few over revs in the first few hundred miles on the new can and I "think" this is when they touched....no sound or pops or bangs, but they did touch.
Running a 4,000 stall I loved this cam and it pulling great up to 6,500-7,000 rpms no problem
