Default rocker beaRINGS

I have a noise coming from the passenger side upper end on my Ls1. Think it might be a bearing in one of the rockers going. can these be replaced ?

drain your oil, if you have needle bearings in there, there ya go. pull the valve covers and look at the trunions on the rockers, you will be able to tell if the bearings went

Unfortunately this is a common issue, but most guys will upgrade to the Comp Cams Trunion Upgrade Kit to fix this issue and to prevent it as well.

I do not have little needles in my oil but I do have fine metal shavings that were collected on the magnetic drain plug

whats the story on the car?

just driving one day and you heard a lifter tap?

installed a cam and noticed this new noise right away or even sometime after?

just trying to get an idea why you think its the rocker arm. although its very possible incorrect push rods and collapsed lifters sound like this too

see if you can locate the area with a stethoscope or long screwdriver to your ear so you can at least narrow down the suspect area and remove the valve cover. push rods would be a great idea! still could be a rocker arm but dont limit yourself to those two items. take a good flashlight and fully inspect the valve spring too.

Are you using an aftermarket camshaft/aftermarket valvespring combination?

I would assume the pushrods are aftermarket if the cam is too right?

I would assume so as well, but with the many different things that we seen and heard about, I wouldn't totally write off that a factory pushrod could still be in there.

Also, have you pulled the rockers to verify that they are all in good working order, just to make sure none of them are seized up or anything unusual?
