Default Looking to get ~450+hp need help.

I have a 2000 trans am with 68k miles on it, the car is my DD(20miles at most a day). I'm looking get ~450rwhp/400rwtq give or take. My current mods I have on my car are SLP lid, TSP 1 7/8" headers, TSP 3" ORY, Borla cat-back, monster stage 3 clutch and tick performance master cylinder. I'm not looking to spray my car. I'm looking for H/C and new oil pump and timing chain etc etc. I just don't know what I should replace and all the little parts I should get need help finding EVERYTHING that I need to buy so I could get a solid number of how much everything is going to run me.

Also what goes into having a cam specd? How do I know which one is good for me?

edit:I do plan on getting a LS6 intake manifold and ported TB as well.

The car in my sig with those mods made 449rwhp/417tq on a hot 106 degree day on the dyno. On all motor. I don't know what it would do on spray honestly.

I love my MS3 cam with PRC 2.5 5.3 Heads. I daily drive it 70-100 miles a day. Get 19 in the city and 25.8 all highway. I am a m6 though.

Mine is an M6 as well, not really worried about how much mpg I'm getting at all when I really don't drive far anyways.

Ok. At the begining of the Gen III forum there is a "Cam Guide" sticky thread. Check it out and you will get alot of your answers there. It helped me out alot.

I am installing my cam/heads combo tomorrow. It should put me somewhere in the neighborhood of 475-500. I went with TFS 228/230 cam and TFS 215 heads. A FAST LSXR 102mm intake and throttlebody and a set of FAST fuel rails. Also upgraded the rockers valve springs and push rods.

I made 470/419 with what all the people on this forum would consider a "mild build."

I can provide links to what I purchased if you would like more detail.

If your stock can support the bigger injectors, stick with it if not upgrade.

We have had several cars here lately roll out of here with 450-475rwhp lately with simple heads/cam/intake set-ups.

One on the dyno right now with what I call a small cam(low 230's duration 112lsa) with TFS 215's and a Fast 102 on some of the first pulls has made 440rwhp and 402rwtq. and we are nowhere near done tuning on it yet. We are looking for an easy 450rwhp+ when this one is all said and done.

get new trunnion bearings for the rocker arms if you run a heads with pm guides.consider new ls7 lifters and lifter trays.you should get a new timing chain and pump.look at vengeance racing or Texas Speed for a good head cam combo.with trick flow heads you should use roller rockers.

There a few ways of doing it to see if your fuel pressure is dropping off. All of them are hack job ways of building a car. You need more fuel to make more power. Give the car the fuel it needs. You run lean, you blow up. Not worth cheaping out on.
