No, power & torque pretty much increased everywhere in the rpm range. From 3500 to 6500 rpm I seen increases up to 14whp and 14wtq. There is one spot on the graphs where hp & tq are the same, but besides that its all increases. Below 3500 rpm the hp and tq increases are even greater.

You're right, don't use LS6 valve springs with cams close to or greater then .550 lift. Have you looked into a custom cam? You can get them for the same price as off-the-shelf cams. Not trying to stray you away from TSP cams, but you can't beat a good custom grind. There are a few good guys on this forum that spec custom cams too.

You will have to measure for proper pushrod length during your build. Its easy to do.

I would call Texas speed if you have any questions

I too also highly recommend the 228 cam. They are great for about 400whp on stock heads. 224 cam's are very small and have limited house power capabilities compared to the 228, I have seen 375whp with them

I recommend dual springs for any cam. I will never buy comp springs again after having a set that was part of a "bad batch" when they came out a while ago

Default Ms3

I have a MS3 with 112 lobe separation, I don't enjoy driving it on the street. I am going down to a Torquer v2 cam, 114 lobe separation. You might want to think about the V2.

tv2 cam would be great too..but I dont know if you need dual springs.228r cam great daily cam aswell..lil less hp than tv2 but you dont need dual springs..still use stock rockers etc..but need hardened 7.4 rods.

And like mentioned before..timing set and oil pump would be wise to do now than later.Get a decent exhaust, cold air intake and you will have over 350whp easy with a tune.if your auto..a stall is always a must have upgrade, even stock.Good luck on your build.

I have a set of Texas Speed 2.5 ported 5.3 heads and Torquer V3 cam on my ls1. Makes 420rwhp and drives great. I'm going with a big motor with a YSI. I'll sell you the heads, cam, springs, etc complete for Your swap. Send me an offer if you're interested.

I 2nd this whole heartedly. Minus the converter since you have a manual. The ASA cam is very tame compared to other cams, but thumps like a huge cam. It sounds awesome and the best part is, it works with stock ls6 springs that can be had for a fraction of the price for other springs that are required for larger cams.

You can use that cam without touching the heads or bottom end. Pick it up used, and get some take off ls6/ls3 springs, hardened pushrods (new to avoid getting one that is bent), Ls2 chain and better oil pump.

With that, you should easily come in cheaper than the entire kit from Tsp and you should easily see 375 at the wheels.

Now, here's the other side. Since your car is stock, I would also invest in a set of lt's and a better exhaust. You can also pick up a set of 98 injectors to keep your fuel on the safe side, but your stock injectors should suffice. And the most important part, is make sure you save enough cash for a good tune.

well crap. im a college student with a low paying job so is there a cheaper cam that doesnt require all those upgrades but will still get me at least 350+hp
If you only looking for 350 rwhp you don't need a cam. A full bolt-on car will make close to or more than that. I made just over that with a lid, ported TB, headers, cat-back and tune. And that was with a crappy kooks y-pipe and GMMG.
