Just a simple power question... ('98 LS1)

Honestly I wasn't trying to be an ***, but depending on cam size, compression, heads, and intake choices you can have a wide range of final horsepower production.
With a good set of ported high flowing heads, high flowing intake and exhaust 5 psi could give you 100+ HP over a stock engine being hit with 5 psi.
I've seen a 137hp difference just in a cam swap on an FI car.
But, I see no reason not to be able to hit 550hp with the right setup, might just take a few more pounds to do it....any reason for the 5psi?

550 is too easy for a turbo! Look into a moser 9" rear to help make use of the new power!
And at the least a 255 walbro fuel pump with hotwire kit, you should be able to survive for a good while with that and a good tuner in your hands..

Lol if your anything like me 5psi will be fun for a little while, but then you will want to crank it up some more
If all you want is 550 hp then you might want to seriously consider a Texas Speed H/C combo for instance, and you can alway's add a 150 wet shot to it and get your desired 550+
A good Nitrous Outlet plate kit is under 1k, TSP H/C kit about 2k, 42 lb SVO injectors $200, ported ls6 oil pump $160, a good 3600 yank SS stall $800..
that's 4 grand plust add a tune to that a misc gaskets... just south of 5k
Now a turbo kit you'll be atleast 10k, and that's if you buy everything used and your doing your own labor, and figure you car to be out of use for atleast a year (speaking of my build so far) and from others on here i've seen..
Goodluck and read all of the stickies, google ''turbo stock ls1" and read every thread you see and you'll see many people have asked the same you have... And your in luck because some are a few years old and you can learn from their mistakes...
$3,600? Yeah right..
When you add up those parts it's hits $3,600 but you need supporting mods to drive around at 500+
Unless you want a dyno queen
