Compression test cost?
I picked up another dd t/a. I'm not planning on doing anything special other than bolt ons and a shot. I wanted a compression test before I started the modding. I called the local Chevrolet dealership (Lancaster motor co) and they quoted me $350. Wtf? Is that what a compression test costs on a fbody? If not, what price seems fair?

^^ good advice
I would say most shops will quote you closer to $200-250. Try searching around though and do some research. I'm not a DIY kind of guy at all but a compression test is fairly simple and learning how to do it will keep some money in your pocket

Step 1. Go to auto parts store
Step 2. Rent a compression test kit for like 30 bucks
Step 3. Watch a youtube video on how to do it yourself
Step 4. Test the car
Step 5. take the tester back and get your money refunded
Job done.
Cost-0

r and r on plugs is probably pays at least 2 and close to 3. the dealership i work at charges 80 an hour plus you have to tack on extra time for puttin the gauge in every hole. they are probably a little high but not by much. everyone bitches about how much it costs to have work done to their vehicle but most dont understand what it takes to train your technicians and pay overhead.
