Default gen 4 rods/pistons in a gen 3 block?

Will this work and are the parts interchangable? Want to put the stronger gen 4 rods in my 5.3 and can get a set of gen 4 rods/pistons super cheap.

Default

They will work as long as You have the pistons and rods together that were meant to be together . The only issue I see is the newer piston to bore is tighter than the older piston to bore so You might have to use the newer pistons with the old piston to bore if that makes sense .
