Is it an LS1 powering that industrial equipment, or hell any other passenger car engine? NO? Well then WTF does that have to do with anything?

Car engines have an engine producing soot/carbon, ingesting air through a limited size filter with a relatively small sump capacity and tiny oil filter. Automotive oil is generally dirty before it is worn out. In some big industrial application it can have bigger finer filters massive sump capacity, plus who is to say a basic dino oil would actually do harm???

Do you honestly think taxi companies use synthetic or retire vehicles before 300K? You would be very wrong on both counts. Sure a taxi company here or there will use a synthetic when paid to by an oil company making a commercial but otherwise they maintain them cheaply as possible and M1 is NOT part of that equation.

They are everywhere. Remember, most people dont get rid of their car because of oil-related engine failures. Usually the rest of the car starts falling apart first.

They likely pulled some of the ZDDP content (anti-wear agents) in order to make it more California emissions friendly.

The sad thing about it is what happens in Calif. seems to happen everywhere
sooner or later.

eg: The new fuel milage standards do not have a C.A.R.B. standard for Calif cars
they will all be CARB compliant.

How about a bunch of words....my Z28 has 312,000 on Mobil1. lol.
How about a bunch more words...your Z28 woud've lasted the same amount of miles regardless of brand of oil that you used.

Frankly, I have yet to see an engine fail because of the type of engine oil used. I've seen engines fail from having too little oil, too much oil, the completely wrong viscosity...but never because of using a certain brand over another.

Not yet, but I have my fingers crossed. Now if I can find a way to scoop out Illinois (Sorry Illinois, the Chicago wackos ruin the whole place for you) and let Lake Michigan fill it, life would be perfect, and we could have some awesome fishing.

The people here on this performance minded website are not going to be the bulk of the people hitting 300K. long distance commuters and fleet vehicles do it all the time it is nothing special atall, though apparently since you think all engines die sooner than that you are a bit "special" yourself.
