safe pushrod length?

Default safe pushrod length?

Possibly finishin my motor this weekend if all the parts come in and if i have time, but thought id ask this here first, im running a 347 ls1 with 243 heads untouched, and an epp blower cam, any reason 7.400 pushrods might be an issue? Would it be Worth ordering the push rod legnth checker? Any input apprtiated, thanks

Just get a pushrod length checker. It is just cheap insurance. Especially after taking the time to tear into your engine.

ok, wasnt sure if it was only worth checking if u were running some crazy cam with custom milled heads or something, thanks!

I agree, there are so many post in this section asking for pushrod lengths. Granted we can all guess and give opinions, that is not the correct way.


People spend hundred...thousands of dollars buying a good set of head, a cam, new bolt, parts etc...But wont buy an $18 PR checker...Why??

If you changed the heads, the cam, the lifters, the rockers....etc you need to check.

So much work involved to cheap out at the last step.

Ight, ill grab one, just wasnt sure lol, that being said is there decent instructions that come with it or is this one of the things ur suppose to know building an engine? If not whats some good tips or a quick how to, this is my first real engine build myself
