Also, how high do you think i will be safely able to rev it up too? Is 7,000 Un Realistic?

After breaking it in, i will be adding a 100 - 150 shot.

Car will not be a track *****. I wanted to build an affordable, strong street car that should put most LS1's and 03 Cobras in my rear view. I cant wait!

With the good crank, rods, and other stuff.. I'd say 7,000rpm is safe. I'm guessing that you will dyno around 455rwhp and 415rwtq with the belt on... add 10 if you take the belt off. I had ported MAF ends on my car and had to take them off because they messed with the A/F curve really bad. It actually made more power with the stock ends on it. Let us know how it turns out, I'm anxious to see how some expensive heads do with a cam that big.

Thanks Gomer, im hoping a little more then that but not by much. I want 470 at 6600. dont know if it will happen though. A lot of stock bottom end cars hitting 455 or higher. Im running a full point higher compression, every bolt on, perhaps the best headers, perhaps the best heads and extremely light rods. It should be finished and tuned within 2 weeks. Trying to get it in for tuning is taking some time

With all that stuff on there why not throw on a cutout to squeeze out a few more ponies?

I agree with Gomer, ditch the MAF ends. With that compression on a stock 10 bolt I'd say 460-465 rwhp is doable with some aggressive tuning.

Also you might of gotten them but I didn't see bigger injectors in your list of goodies. I just got my car done & the stock injectors were maxed out at 6200 rpm's on my 99. I ended up having to have some 30 lb injectors put on. You may need a bigger injector if you didn't already have that in mind, Fred

I would think you can hit the 470 # or even more you want but you will need a really good tuner and I think you might need a cutout. Paying a pro to tune your car is always worth the money .Im just not sure about that cam not having all of the specs on it. Your 347 really doesnt make much extra power but it will last . I think the added compression is only worth 8-10 hp. I hope you picked up some 30# injectors too. Good luck with the setup and feel free to post more about the cam so we can make more accurate guesses .

Don't make me drive to Florida to out run you! Dallas was far enough. You should have a pretty stout set-up. Hope it turns out like you want.

Scoobie, not trying to start any debates here, but what made you decide to go with the stock stroke? Since you were buying a new crank, rods, and pistons it would have been the same price to go ahead and stroke it a little which theoretically would make more power. Just curious.

I say 470 is doable with that EWP and the other mods, but your tunner is gona be your best friend.

and you should have no problem spinning to 7k maybe even 8k depending on your rods and rod bolts. Ofcourse valvetrain also.

Gulfport Ms.! I actually went to school in Long Beach. That is where I grew up. Maybe I will see that orange beast sometime. I have been wanting to bring my car to the Gulfport dragway. Used to go up there now and then with my old '67 RS 327.

Good luck,
Derek

Where are you going to be dynoing?

Actually, the reason i went with that crank is because i got the crank, pistons, rods and block as a package deal with no tax. I bought it off a shop owner who was going to use it as his own. Yeah, would love to have a stroker but the machine work was already done and this is mainly a street car, not a track car. Thanks for all of the replies. I will keep everyone in the loop. I do have a fine tuner btw and as of the moment i am using stock injectors. Not by choice though, but this thing cost me a pretty buck. Beast good to hear from you, bring it on man John, i will let you know for sure.
