Are hell fire rings an aggressive enough ring to accelerate the wear of a cylinder bore on a car that is primarily street driven?

Get the wiseco's and be done with it. Really no reason to go with anything else, unless you wanna be different and just end up with an inferior setup.

are there any other head gaskets that are worth looking at besides GM 12589226 and cometic H1294045S?

LS6 block, LS6 heads and a 3.903 piston.

thanks

what would you guys say to, "forged rods are overkill, run OEM rods?"
OEM rods would probably be okay, but an inexpensive set of forged rods might be worth it. From you OP, it seems like you have a focus on a robust valvetrain, which in my mind, would stand up to higher-than-normal RPM use. Forged rods will be a good supporting mod for this, as the rods experience exponentially more stress as RPMs increase. If you were buying new rods (either forged or stock) I'd say go with forged ones. If you already have stock rods and want to reuse them, they'd probably work, but at least get the good rod bolts.

I think those are the same ones that I used - stock LS1/LS6 MLS gaskets. Anyway, I'm very happy with mine and would buy them again.

They were worth it in my opinion. I purchased a set of Eagle H Beams with ARP 2000 rod bolts.

I ran some stock MLS before and was happy with them too. Sounds to me like there arent really any new options out there for us NA guys.

Thanks again

You don't need any other options. The GM gaskets are extremely good and there is no need for you to get anything else. Cometic makes some really nice gaskets but for your application there is no need to get them.
