Default Vr1 50 good?

Just wondering what you guys thought of this oil? I just picked up some and going to swap on my next oil change. I usually use valvoline platinum or castrol whichever it is. I know it's hot more additives in it. So let me know how y'all liked it. Or not.

Valvoline racing oil VR1. I picked some up at autozone. I got the sae 50. Just wondering if anyone has used it here before.

I run VR1 20-50 in my '94 Z28 398 LT4. Helps with the notoriously low (compared to LSx) oil pressure that LTx motors have.

No complaints. Seems to do the job fine. Running a thicker oil like this might cost me a couple HP, but I like seeing the higher pressure on the gauge.

That's cool. I'll run it for a few miles than switch it out to 10w30 I ordered some from jegs. Autozone only had 50 60 n 20w50.

I run it in my car the sae 50 is a little thick for my taste, I run the 10w and have no issues seems to help with the piston slap a little also.

If it's a straight weight 50 it's going to be thicker than pine sap.
