Op, if you want your oil analyzed, find a clean bottle and send it my way (pm me). I perform oil analysis at work. Hence why I use the oil I do.

DO NOT use that Lucas oil stabilizer. It's just 90 weight oil with soap and will foam up with air. Discussed here a few times. There's a video somewhere.

Filters:

Wix (same as CarQuest), Mobil One Extended, K&N, Amsoil, Bosch Long Distance, Baldwin. Stay away from STP, Penzoil or any odd names like the store's name. NO FRAM ANYTHING.

OIL: Any good name synthetic oil should do, many use Mobil One with good results.

Royal Purple filters and oils are pretty good, nothing much better than the other stuff but way expensive, so I didn't list it.

I use German Castrol 0W-30 and a Fleetguard Microglass filter.

The truck filters are a bit longer and stick down more on a F-Body so if you have a Firebird or Camaro and it's dropped, forget it.

A magnetic oil drain plug is a nice touch.

I wish I could find GC anywhere near me. I don't think I've seen it for about 5 years...

I actually have a magnetic oil drain plug, just realized I need to get another as the bolt's starting to round. I wrote that down this time.

AutoZone and Pep Boys usually have it. I wait for Castrol Edge to go on sale and I stock up.

I saw it at neither when I went yesterday. But Edge was on sale, which is part of the reason I just went with it (I also use it in my VW).

Some guys have good things to say about it for pure racecars that get drained very frequently. Generally street cars that actually have a used oil analysis done will say stay the hell away from it.

My transmission shop uses RP trans fluid in their units. They say it foams the least. And they build some of the best racing transmissions & converters.

No, it is a good oil. Just as good as a few other brands that cost from a little to a lot less.

Hey Jake, while I love the good folks at WS6, they get ten bucks a quart. There are AutoZone stores around your area and, at least here in NY, they're running a sale on the stuff with a toss-away Fram filter. Even not on sale, it's less than WS6 plus there's no shipping.

Shell Rotella T 15-40 in mine.

Brad Penn is some of the best oil on the market. It has all the additives in it that has been taken out of your off the shelf oils. Brad Penn may be hard to get. I have a case sitting in the garage right now. The only thing with it though is it may make your 02 sensors go south a little sooner.
