Default what should be connected to this port on the intake (noob question)

This is a 2002 LS1 with a LS6 intake flipped backwards. No emissions. I'm tearing the car down for the first time and this is what I found. What should be connected to the brass fitting on the right side of the intake opening? I'm assuming it should not be unfiltered like this. I'm sure unfiltered air has been sneaking in through here.

Just put a rubbber gromet on it or anything to seal it. Sucks that it was off on a buggy you could be sucking sand in that bitch.

Definately cap it. It's allowing unmetered air into the intake. If you get a rubber cap at Autozone or wherever, check it from time to time. They dry-rot and crack pretty quick. A silicone cap would be best.
