So finishing up my motor swap and am getting ready to run the car. Installed cam and other minor goodies. My question is, whats the break in process, if any, before I get it dyno tuned?

 

I know its recommended to heat cycle the valve springs

 

someone please post that moto link for the break in process. OP, id post it if i had it nearby. perhaps a search will bring it to the surface. i would follow that as your break in

 

I found a thread with break in procedures but that was for freshly rebuilt motors..thought maybe it wouldn't be as rigorous for just a cam swap. I just want to make sure I do it right so I guess going to that extreme wouldn't hurt

If it's a used engine with just a cam swap, there's really no reason to break it in....just run it enough to make sure it's all correct....then take it to the tuner.

Yeah the motor already has 40k on it. So maybe just drive it around town a couple times before tuning? Also, should I change oil before tuning?

 

I'd ride it for a couple hundred miles change it. Then tune it
