Patriot Dual Springs on ported 243 heads, LS7 lifters, 228/232 .600/.601 110LSA cam, stock oil pump, Mobile1 5W-30 oil. Pre-load... I don't remember. I installed this stuff in 2008.

I've always had some lifter noise, but it doesn't seem to affect performance. I lived in Germany from 2010-May of this year. Lot's of driving at 3500-5500RPM sustained on the Autobahn. Ran the Nurburgring a few times, running between 4500-6700RPM for 10min straight each run. Occasionally take the car to the drag strip. I usually shift at 6900RPM there.

4-years and 28,000 miles since installing the current set-up it's still running well That's more than I could say for the transmission.

I am using the European blend M1 - 0W-40. Not sure how much I like it yet, good for cold starts but I think I may go a heavier weight because it seems like my car is using more oil than I would like.

My oil pressure is identical to stock - not sure how accurate that gauge is on the dash, but with the thinner oil you could notice a small drop in pressure (at idle), but with the new oil pump it brought back to where the settings were from the factory.

The preload on my lifters I think is almost exactly 0.075".

My motor is actually quite quiet on a cold startup, most likely thanks to the low viscosity oil I run though. Oh and BTW my springs are the stock dual springs that come with the PRC heads.

EDIT: My cam specs are 228/232 with XER lobes. I think the lift is 588/595? LSA is 111.

This may help to, here is an idle video of my car (at night so you cannot see anything). About half way thru (23ish seconds into the video) I walk around to the front of the car. You can hear the sewing machine sound of the XER lobes, but the motor is relatively quiet.

Dang winter time car storage sucks, lol. I want to hear that idle again.

My **** sounds like a sewing machine too, but it's not the lifters. It's the valves slamming back down in the seat. I'm running Tooley's Platinums @ 1.750 installed height (.030 shim) with Comp PR's, Trunion, and new LS7 lifters

875-16 Comps, only a few dollars more than 850's, they have travel limiters so they won't over pump at hi revs, they don't collapse under hi spring pressure either. Good quality for around $200 a set.

I'm actually hearing a problem as well. i recently just did LS7 lifters, trays, LS6 ported oil pump, running M1 5W-30, 7.40 push rods, and 650 prc dual springs. the cam is a 609 lift. trickflow 215 heads milled back 59cc's. i have a tap that comes and goes. can't remember what my preload was. the oil pressure sits at 30psi at idle then when i give it any gas it will bounce up according to how much throttle. i have no clue what this tap is but its bothering me like crazy. like i said it will come and go also when it is there the exhaust sounds more poppy according to the tap. any suggestions?
