Default cam choices

I'm looking at cams for a new engine rebuild for my 98 z. Want a sleeper style cam , was thinking about an ls6 cam. But now I'm looking at 2 different cams. One from ESP and one from Tick Performance.
ESP cam specs :
Intake
214 @ .050
.605"
Exhaust
232 @ .050
.598"
LSA - 117

Tick Performance
Intake
218 @ .050
.59x"
Exhaust
230 @ .050
.60x"
LSA 117+2

How do you like either of them?

I'd go with the Tick cam, since it has a larger intake duration and uses the Comp LXL lobes which are comparable to the eps cam lobes.

Both are good cams, you can't go wrong with either of them.

The car will be getting long tubes and an ory to go along with the magna flow cat-back. A set of 243/799 heads , mostly an ls6 intake or if i can find a used fast for a good price. 75-100 shot of nitrous.

Not too shabby of a setup. Personally if you are going with a sleeper setup I would go with a 150 on the juice though, no reason to not whack it with that much.

Both of those cams are stealthy and would love the juice...I've had great
luck with a 218/226 EPS but the Tick cam would also work great. It's really
up to you as to where to spend your money.

IMO, you don't need a wide split if you're putting higher flowing heads, LT headers and ORY-pipe an free-flow cat-back on it.
Go with a single pattern cam like a 224/224 116lsa.

This will be close to what it will end up being.
