Weird lifter/valvetrain noise
I just got back into the LS1 game with a 2001 SS that i bought from a member here on the board. I've been loving every second of it but for the last week or so its been developing a ticking noise coming primarily from the right/passenger side of the engine (valvetrain noise or possible bad lifter?). Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I figure i'd ask before i break something or do permanent damage. Here's a list of what is under the hood and a link to the video(hope it works) of the sound if it'll help...

Again, i hope i'm just being paranoid but who knows...
Thanks for the input!

this is how mine sounded when I spun a lifter and cracked a tray
After tearing it down found that the lifter had spun 90 degrees in its bore. Lifter tray didn't crack, but was weak enough to let it spin. Destroyed the cam and bent a couple valves.
I'd suggest pinpointing the location with a stethoscope and go from there. Good luck

RAM CLUTCHES - MOSER ENGINEERING - ARH HEADERS - ARP - GM BOLTS AND GASKETS - MSD - NGK
POWERBOND - ASP - PRECISION INDUSTRIES - YANK - CIRCLE D - AND MORE!
