Thats listed above, maybe I dont have the right name for it but the black piece of plastic with 2 bolts that goes between the cam gear and crank gear right?

I am running a front cover with sensor so I believe I have the right cam gear. Its a 3 bolt (have 3 bolt LS7 cam), with a ring that it a semi circle sticking out on half the gear.

yes , the only ls2 cam gear that will work with a pre 2005 ECM is the 2005 1x cam gear as You described it above and You'll need to switch the 2 outside wires of the 3 cam sensor wires also ,,,,,,,that is if You're using a pre 2005 wiring harness/ecm . Also the cam sensor You need is the black 1,,,,,,,,not the gray 1 ,,,,,and I did'nt see any mention of the coolant cross-over tubes/seals . Depending on trans You're going with ,,,,,,,,,if older tranny 350,400 turbo-hydramatic or 700r-4 or power-glide You'll need a flexplate spacer and longer flexplate bolts

Why are you using a used lifter tray? Buy new ones for $32.
