Default I need some pistons.

I bought a block from Craigslist with a spun rod bearing and had a local (reputable) machine shop turn the crank, bore it 10 over and new cam bearings. Not sure if I'm going to use the factory rods. I haven't searched any threads about it yet but, either way I need a set of 10 over pistons.

Its for a street car looking to make around 450 and bullet proof. Ill continue to do some research but any suggestions would be great. Looking for best bang for my buck.

In for replies as well, I've got the same goals as you there longcut

edit: I know most aftermarket pistons use a floating pin - anyone have a ballpark on what it'd cost to have new pistons hung on the stock rods?

Thats good casting, Ive got one too , its next best thing to the 1168 LS6 casting. I too would like to find a budget piston like speed pro , but they are press pin rods and I want to go floating . I dont think Federal Mogul makes a 3.9x floating hyper piston.

looks like Speedpro is the piston. Have your machine shop call for a pricing.

My final bore was 3.907 and 5/10ths. I'm surprised there are not more aftermarket pistons readily available for a .010 cut.

2005 LS1 / LS6 were floating , so you would think Speed Pro would make a replacement for them.
