The TR224 is a very popular cam in the LS1 community, I'm running the 224/224 .563 112LSA, which gave me a noticeable gain. The other good thing about the TR224, is that if you go with the .563 lift, it won't eat up valvepsrings as bad as other cams. If you have a 6spd, go with the 112 LSA, if an auto, 114 LSA. I'm running on a stock tune also, only problem is when it's cold, it wants to stall sometimes, but once it warms up, it's good to go. Good luck

as long as you get long tube headers, it will give you a good gain, (at least in my case)
at first i put this cam (TR224 on 112 LSA) with everything else being stock except the lid and cut out, and i gained 22rwhp and 10rwtq, (everything else was stock, no headers, LS1 intake, no tune, stock rev limiter) but after the stage 2 heads, LT headers, LS6 intake, tunning, i gained another 75rwhp and 61rwtq over the cam only results (on the same dyno).
if you don't tune it, at least raise the rev limiter, ( i shift at 6400-6500)

We typically see 35-40rwhp with the addition of the TR224/112 (or 114) on cars that have all the bolt-ons. I would recommend getting some sort of tuning to bump your revlimiter to 6600rpms to take full advantage of the cam.

Another satisfied TR 224 owner here! I've got mine on a 112lsa and she put down 376rwhp/rwtq earlier this week with the mods in my sig. I still need an LS6 intake too, so I'll see a few more ponies once that goes in. It sounds really good on a stock tune (nice and lopey), but smoothes out some after you get it tuned. There's definetely a noticable gain in the mid/top end even before tuning.
