ballin' ideas...NO harm
Update.....Mike said they would be closed over the holidays but that someone
would be there to accept postal shipments and whatnot..so I'll probably catch
up with him next week
Also wonderin' what peoples thoughts are on valvesprings? I've had great luck
with my Lunati gold duals and TEA also has some great dual kits but I always
kinda felt like I negated some of the RPM potential of my hollow LS6 valves in
my current 241 castings by putting heavy springs on. At the time PAC and
Comp Cams 918s were having some batch issues so I opted for a more "at
ease" approach not wanting to drop a valve into my 15,700 mile(@ the time)
C5....The wife would cut my.......well you know what I mean........
I found a really nice surface enhanced beehive from Manley, part of their Nex
Tech line that installs @ 1.800 w/150lbs....has a spring rate of 353....and will
have around 350-360 open pressure with my cam. I would no doubt run a Ti
retainer. I'll have to see what Mike says about it when talk to him next.
Also this spring would be a great choice for guys running an aggressive IN.
lobe in the .630"-.640" range since it's rated to 650. I think even the PSI Max
lifes are like .625" or .630" IIRC

Call from Mike on Friday the 17th......heads are done and being shipped
chambers came in at 61.4 cc which at most is only 1 cc less than the current
241s. Will also be using GM MLS gaskets...compression should be about 10.9
will post pics next week..............

reformulated (sold as good ol' gas) but it's 91 octane. I didn't figure it out
but wouldn't my DCR be extremely high with such a baby cam and your 11.5
proposal ?????? Lastly I wanted this to be a true casting swap (w/CNC) as
the valves/springs/compression will be virtually identical and with no other
changes. Most people usually make so many changes that it becomes spec-
ulative as to how much power just the heads make. In this particular case
my total power increase will be solely due to the TEA stage 1 CNC 243s.
You and me both. Prolly won't be swapped out and dyno tuned till mid-spring
I think your compression is going to be higher than that. Higher compression will equal more response! See the chart below.

I guess the only variable is the true compressed thickness of the 2003 MLS
gasket as I've seen anywhere from .056" to .060".

Just got these in on Monday and not really certain on how to attach them
or format so they may turn out real large if you click on them.
Heads look real nice for a stage one......unmachined casting areas which
I expected seem to be consistent from port to port and chamber to
chamber....I'll have to find the flow sheet but 312/260 w/pipe seems to
come to mind.

I just ordered the TEA Stage 2 heads myself. Mike is a standup guy. He talked me out of the turned down LS3 valves because I won't be turning enough RPM for it to show... Plus I'm using stock rockers which almost always cure any ailments on the TFS heads with the same valves.

Thats the rpm range I plan on shifting in, Im about to order the Tick torquemax sns stage 3. I have PRC stage 1 ls6 heads and had a valve break but can't decide what I should do with heads. Send to TEA,AI,reher-morrison, TSP, or have them fixed local. I was considering going with turned down ls3 valves and BTR titanium valve spring package but wasn't sure if I truely needed them.
