Should i swap these parts...?
Bought a fresh, completely rebuilt LS1 recently. It was rebuilt with all stock parts and has 806 heads. Debating to leave the new stock parts in it or swap what I have below:
- Melling high pressure oil pump
- LS2 timing chain
- 853 heads with minor porting and ls6 springs
*all these parts have 30k miles on them*
*853's had a valve job 30k ago as well*
What do u guys think? It's just the fact that my aftermarket parts are slightly used vs. brand new (but stock) that has me wondering. I do not want to run into oil pump issues in another 30k for example or a busted stock chain when I should've used my ls2...etc.
Also, the new motor has never been ran yet, shouldn't be a problem to re-use the metal cover gaskets should it?
